We’re so glad that it’s finally a little bit warmer outside, so we decided to go on another hike yesterday. Even though this route was only 3.7 miles long and nothing compared to the one we did last week.
We parked our car in Wendelsheim and hiked along the fields into the woods to a little chapel called Tannenrainkapelle. That’s were we had our lunch break. We took the path down the hill that also shows the stations of the cross and headed to the quarry. If you bring some wood, sausages or other things to BBQ, you can do that right before the quarry. There’s big BBQ area with some benches.
We walked through the quarry because we also wanted to see the fairy tale lake. I had no expectations of this place whatsoever and was curious of how it would look like. Spoiler alert: It feels absolutely magical there.
After passing by an amazing lookout we headed back to the car. This hike turned out pretty well. I just recommend not going Sundays and starting early. We arrived at 11:45 am and left again at around 2:45 pm, which was a little bit too late. The parking area was full of cars even already parking on the fields…
