It is finally getting a little bit warmer outside, which is why we decided to go on a hike again today. As we had church this morning we only had half the day to spend outside. So I picked a little shorter route for today. We went to Albstadt which is an hour away from our home to do this 3 mile hike, that took us about 2 hours.
If you’re looking for something awesome to do with your kids go there. The trail starts at the Waldheim/playground, where we also parked our car. A nice surprise was the ice cream truck that was standing right there. Of course as soon as the kids saw it, they didn’t stop asking for ice cream and since it wasn’t such a cold day we agreed that it might also be a good motivation for them đ So as soon as we arrived, the first thing we did was get some ice cream….
The tour is divided into 2 parts. For the first part you have to head north through the forest to the wild boar enclosure and then on a loop trail back to the car.
The second part starts at the Waldheim/playground heading south. It is a beautiful narrow path. You will come by a “witch’s kitchen” (which is in a big cave) and on the way back you walk by a tower (that surprise, surprise is open, despite Corona :-)).
At the end you come back to the Waldheim and playground, which was a great ending for the kids. All in all a beautiful short hike which doesn’t take too long but has exciting things to see.
