After spending almost 12 hours in a plane (and 20 min on a playground at Frankfurt airport – who knew there was such a thing as an airport playground? We need more of that :)) from Frankfurt to LA we are beyond tired.

The first half of our flight was pretty good. During the second half though, our kids decided that they didn’t wanna sleep anymore. Which meant it got louder.

But I was amazed that they weren’t fussy at all during take off or landing. While I sat there once again in pain because of my ears, they didn’t seem to care at all. Unfortunately right after landing things took a slight turn for the worse: The airline broke our stroller. Now we have to see how to get it fixed… But even though it is annoying, it’s a problem we can solve. Now we are really looking forward to the next couple of days, since we’re expecting 28 degrees Celsius. This is a real godsend for us, cause we’re still sick and having air con everywhere doesn’t make it any better. Tomorrow morning we’ll pick up our RV and then it’s off to the beach!

P.S. The US has so far fully lived up to its reputation as a country where service is first and foremost – we didn’t have to wait a single minute in line at LAX. As soon as they saw us they ushered us into the express/diplomatic lines, both at immigration and at customs. We surely aren’t in “Service Wüste Deutschland” anymore.
