I think this is gonna be our last post about our trip to the US. Our last Campground was the Malibu Creek State Park. We only chose this one, because it was close to Road Bear, the company where we rented our RV. Otherwise we would never have stayed there. The campground is crazy expensive and not nice at all. One of the worst campgrounds we’ve ever been to. But at least we got to see Katie & Reza one last time and got to spend the afternoon and evening together. Unfortunately the time came where we had to say our goodbyes. 😞 Nate burst out in tears for the first time in his life when he had to say goodbye to someone!
We were really sad, too. This is starting to feel like home for us and we’ll definitely be homesick once we get back to Germany.
Yesterday, the day of the return, everything went sideways. We had to give back the RV until 9:30 am. At 9:30 am we were still at the propane filling station… Everything took us longer than we expected and at the end we even forgot to take our stroller with us.
After giving back our RV we drove to the Sharaton Gateway Hotel at the Airport and enjoyed the pool.
Thank God we rented a car for the last two days, that way we were so much more flexible. That’s why we decided to meet Heather again for dinner. This time at a Mexican place in downtown LA. Across the street is a store called “The last book Store”. If you are in LA make time and go visit this place. It’s such a neat store. They have all kinds of books. Horror, Comics, children’s and antique books and so much more. You can even get vinyls there. And not only new ones. They also sell used books. I could have spent all night in there.
On our last day we went back to Road Bear to get our stroller. On our way back we drove the scenic route to Venice beach. We were a little bit disappointed. Somehow our memories of Venice beach were better than they were this time. Only the little restaurant right at the beach was still the same than 4 years ago. 😊
After that we drove back to the hotel to enjoy some dinner at their club lounge and to pack our luggage. Tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 pm we fly back to Germany ☹️😥 But don’t worry this won’t be our last post in this blog. Many more adventures are awaiting us (even in Germany) and we’ll keep you updated!
