After two exciting and very enjoyable days in Bryce Canyon NP it was time for us to move on towards our next National Park in Utah: Zion NP. But as there are also quite a few beautiful State Parks in Utah we had decided to do a stopover in Coral Pink Sand Dunes SP. This park is quite popular for the OHV crowd as there is a huge area on and around the dunes where you can ride your ATV or other off-road toys. We only saw a few of them and didn’t mind them at all. On the contrary: If we had dunes like that within driving distance in Germany I know what I’d have in my garage 🙂

After arriving we decided to check out the Nature Trail, a 0.5 ml loop through the dunes, complete with info on the flora and fauna of the desert. As this walk was without any steep cliffs or similar perilous parts (to a not-always-listening two year old at least) we decided to let Nate walk on his own. With a little motivational help from our side he was able to walk the whole trail on his own – he was really fascinated by the fine grained sand. My back also enjoyed the walk without a child carrier.

After our little excursion, dinner was next. Since we haven’t really blogged that much about the food (at least if you ask me) I’ll make up for that with this paragraph 🙂 As you have undoubtedly seen from the post about the inside of our RV we do have a complete, albeit small, kitchen. But most of the days we only use the kitchen for the preparation of sides such as salad and avocados (or cados, as Nate calls them), if at all. Everyday we have the chance to grill in some of the most beautiful sceneries that the US has to offer to campers. And it would be a shame to not use these opportunities. Just for that we have a small charcoal bbq that we fire up for our dinner (thanks to Reza). But enough words about food, let there be photos:

Not sure what the guys who camped here before us had for dinner… What do you think?
