We didn’t do much yesterday, because it was raining for the first half of the day. In the early evening the weather cleared up, so we decided to take the train to the river Rhein. We made a bonfire there so that we could BBQ. It was a great adventure for the kids and they were finally able to throw stones in the water again. At the end of the day they were out and already fell asleep on the train.
Today, Michelle and Joe were dog watching. That’s why we drove to Avers to walk along the educational groundhog path. I didn’t expect to see any groundhogs at all as it was around noon when we arrived. And it’s most likely to see some groundhogs either early in the mornings or in the late afternoon. But, much to our surprise, we did indeed get the chance to see a groundhog family up close. We were able to walk towards them until they were just 4 feet away from us. Pretty amazing!
In the afternoon we quickly drove to the “Erlebnisberg Pradaschier”. They have the longest toboggan run in Switzerland with 1.93 miles. It’s anything but cheap (like many things in Switzerland) but still worth a visit if you happen to be in the area.
