We started super early this morning. At 3 am our alarm rang and at 3:45 we left for our road trip to Tuscany. The kids were so excited, which meant they didn’t want to sleep at all. 😂
It took them more then an hour to fall back asleep.
Because of the beautiful landscape we decided not to drive through the Gotthard tunnel but the Gotthard Pass. And it was totally worth it.
Pretty much the whole trip went well and even the kids were happy and we almost made it in time if the stupid Italian toll system hadn’t cost us some extra time. 🙈 At the first toll station two bikers got in the wrong lane so that they expected everyone in their car to pull back. 🙄 At the second toll station the machine didn’t work so we had to wait for ages for all the other cars in front of us to drive through and then we had wait another 10 minutes until we were able to pass the gate. At the next one the machine wasn’t working either and the gate was already open so we just drove through. And at the last one they wanted us to put in the ticket from the last station which we didn’t have because we just drove through. So all in all, everything was a huge mess.
At 3:15 we finally arrived and with us a huge storm. There was lightning and thunder right on top of us and Mike had to get all our stuff from the car to the house. He was soaking wet. I haven’t seen anything like this before. The storm took of the roofs of the Glamping tents, there was water standing in our bedroom, the chairs were blown down the hill, we lost our power supply, and so on….
Luckily most of it was over in about 1 1/2 hours and we got to enjoy the rest of the evening with wine and pizza in a beautiful sunset.
Guess, who’s hiding? 😉
