Today our wanderlust took us to Sigmaringen, a 1.5 hour’s drive from Stuttgart. We started near the old monastery of Inzigkofen, and hiked along the river Danube. The 2.6 miles loop trail was packed full of spectacular views such as the Amalienfels (a memorial for the Princess Amalie Zephyrine (1760\u20131841)) or the Devil’s Bridge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accoring to local lore, the builder had made a pact with the devil to build this daring bridge. In exchange for his help the devil required the soul of the first person to cross the bridge. But the builder tricked the devil and sent a dog over first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even the kids were impressed – Nate even told me that this hike is quote „not boring, this is like an adventure, like being in a jungle“. So with his stamp of approval the hike went pretty well, we can highly recommend it for a family hike with kids. Just don’t go on a weekend and try to get an earlier start than us, then you’ll be able to beat the crowds and annoying tourist in high-heels and selfie-sticks (we didn’t) and you’ll enjoy the views even more. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
