Yesterday we did one of the most beautiful routes (in Germany that is) so far. We were on the Swabian Albs at the Randecker Maar and we hiked to the Heimenstein Cave. Unfortunately the cave is currently closed (until July) which is why we could only see the entrance. You can also see the ruins of the castle Reu\u00dfenstein from there. Not only did we encounter many tree stumps and rocks to climb on, we also passed a farm with cows at the beginning of the route. That kept our kids happy and motivated.<\/p>\n

After the cave we took a short break on a nice bench off the path (no idea who put it there, it wasn’t even bolted to the ground) and hiked through the Schopflocher Moor back to the hiking parking site. In total we walked almost 5.5 miles. I wasn’t sure at first if Noam would be able to pull it off, but he had no problems to keep up with us and his older brother. In total it took us 4 hours (including the 30min lunch break)<\/p>\n

On the way home we stopped at my parents in Dettingen\/Teck for a coffee, but we couldn’t stay long as we had an online Whiskey tasting planned for 8 pm.<\/p>\n
